The fact is the woman that created dogsbite has an axe to grind with pit bulls and it shows on her website which is little more then an anti pit bull propaganda machine disguised as a public safety orientated community focused dog bite and safety educational tool concentrating on victims advocacy.

There's not one animal expert on their payroll or board and it shows just check out this case below.

Eugene Smith

87-years old | Frederick, Maryland

Eugene Smith, 87-years old, was fatally attacked by his family pit bull while taking down his Christmas tree. The dog was still viciously attacking him when Frederick County deputies, Frederick police officers and animal control arrived. Authorities were able to quickly contain the dog. Smith was taken to Frederick Memorial Hospital with severe injuries. He was pronounced dead on arrival. Smith lived at the Stonehouse Road home with his son and his son's fiancée. The family adopted the male pit bull from an unnamed person or rescue seven months earlier. The dog's former owner, who had owned the animal for about three years in a neighboring county, had adopted the dog from a Baltimore area rescue group. At the time of the fatal attack, the 84-pound pit bull was neutered and 4 or 5 years old. Frederick County Animal Control euthanized the dog after the attack. Smith, nicknamed "Smitty," spent his life as a tanker truck driver who delivered milk to farms and creameries in Frederick for nearly 60 years. [source citations]

So it's unclear how they came into possession of the dog in the first place.

So you know the dogs owner now but you said the dog was adopted from an unnamed person or rescue at the start?

So there was absolutely no investigation regarding the dog involved despite the sketchy details they've posted and it's a well known fact that shelter staff have real issues visually identifying the breed of any given breed

Dog breed identification is no basis for shelter policy.

The study, underwritten by Maddie’s Fund and reported on the Maddie's Fund website,1 dealt with the limited problem of identifying "pit bull" dogs in four Florida animal shelters. Shelter staff and veterinarians regularly assign breed descriptors to the dogs in their care; but, the authors asked, what are the reliability and repeatability of these breed assignments? They developed their project based upon this question, to test the hypothesis that agreement among staff members regarding identification of “pit bull” dogs would be poor, and that there would be poor agreement between staff breed identifications and DNA breed signatures." 

The fact is this dog could have been any breed and this is just one of many similar cases where dogsbite claims are made without any evidence substantiating their assertions that this dog was actually a "pit bull"?

The fact is dogsbite has recently won the most disreputable web site in the internet and is it any wonder with dodgy unsubstantiated claims verging on blatant lies?

Dogsbite enjoys absolutely no support from either the animal experts organizations of the world with all rejecting their so called statistics as little more then propaganda.

Dogsbite.org tops itself in patheticness

So there is a fundraiser going for a pit bull rescue. You can read about it here

This woman was the victim of a pit bull attack (a fighting ring) and after many years she ultimately lost her leg. The fundraiser is to raise money for a permanent prosthetic leg. Here’s the thing. 

She hasn’t become a dogsbite.org minion so they of course attack her. Because you see, only the “victims” who worship at the altar of Colleen are worthy. Anyone that thinks their own thoughts and doesn’t fall in line is unworthy. 

Of course if you are a pit bull owner whose untrained, unexercised, uncared for dogs kill a 2 year old it’s okay as long as you sing the song of dogsbite and blame the rest of the world afterwards.

These people can’t seem to figure out if it’s the dogs fault or the humans fault, they just know they hate everyone and everything that doesn’t fall to their knees in compliance.

And this is the absolutely disgusting actions that follow. Dogsbite.org is SUPPOSEDLY an educational site. No, it’s a hate site. And I honestly do not know how a 501c3 gets away with it. Colleen Lynn you are a sad sad bitter nasty vile woman and you make me ill.

Notice her comment “stumping for pit bulls”. She thinks she’s being funny by making a play on the horrific injury this woman has. How’s that for a “victims” advocate?

And Colleen, I have plenty of words for this situation.

Sad, unfortunate, heartbreaking. Followed by intelligence, kindness, compassion, understanding, empathy, and most importantly SURVIVOR.

I’d say this lady did something not a single one of you morons has managed. She stopped being a victim, and she became a survivor.

Dogsbite.org = disinformation machine revealed

I'm somewhat confused as to why the head honcho from dogsbite.org Colleen Lynn continues to support and promote breed specific legislation is spite of admitting in a Radio interview that it doesn't actually reduce dog bite related fatalities?


"In the 10-year period from 2005 to 2014, pit bulls killed 203 Americans and accounted for 62% of the total recorded deaths (326). Combined, pit bulls and rottweilers accounted for 74% of these deaths."




Breed Specific Legislation was never about community safety it was about killing pit bulls and it was assumed that by killing pit bulls the death toll would automatically fall but it hasn't in fact in the last 2 years the death toll has been twice the national average for the previous 2 decades 2 years running in spite of the hundreds of thousands of dogs that looked like pit bulls being murdered in shelters during that same time period?

These people seem to only be advocating for victims of pit bulls and against pit bulls and their owners and regularly encourage followers to lobby politicians and legislators and that's activity which is likely tp put their non profit tax exempt status in jeopardy?

As you can see dogsbite really doesn't care about the facts this victim may well have had a heart attack, or any number of ailments associated with growing old but because she had bite marks and dogs that looked like pit bulls case closed.

Dog bite statistical data gathering is the cornerstone of DogsBite.org and has resulted in several important studies issued by DogsBite.org including: U.S. Dog Bite Fatalities January 2006 to December 2008 (April 2009) and U.S. Pit Bull Attacks in 85-Day Period (October 2008). As of April 2014, the 3-year dog bite fatality study has been accessed over 74,000 times since its release and is still often quoted by the media. In April 2011, statistics from the 85-day data collection period were cited in a peer-reviewed medical journal study, "Mortality, Mauling, and Maiming by Vicious Dogs," published by the Annals of Surgery. Each year, starting from 2005, DogsBite.org collects U.S. fatal dog bite data. Considering their focus revolves around promoting breed specific legislation against a breed/type responsible for 62% (dogsbite stat) of dog bite fatalities it seems they're ignoring those victims of non banned breeds.

In 2014 43 people died as a result of dog related injuries 20 of which involved non banned breeds, I suggest that dogbite.org creator Colleen Lynn explain to their families why she promotes legislation which does nothing to help them or prevent other families suffering similar tragedies in the future.

Most if not all of the pro breed specific legislation proponents have an axe to grind against a population of type/breeds because of a bad experience they've had with a particular dog that may or may not have been a pit bull they are driven by revenge and their judgement seems distorted by hatred.

Please don't enable their Cynophobic tendencies and the fact is this organization should have hundreds of thousands of supporters if they weren't discriminating against a particular breed and were  focusing on victims advocacy as they claim they most certainly would have more support but the fact is after 8 years of being published their Facebook page has little to no support either?......
